Mirro 16 Quart Pressure Cooker Reviews and Opinions
The 16 Quart Mirro pressure cooker provides a decent number of options. Unlike other brands, this kitchen pressure cooker does not have the pressure gauge or include a cooking & canning rack. But after researching several reviews, these features are not always necessary and can make the pressure cooking process more difficult.
The Mirro pressure cooker 16 quart model features an air vent and cover lock which allows the pressure to build only when the cover is properly closed.
An accompanying instruction and short recipe book will also come in handy if you are new to pressure cooking.
Many of the reviews we found for Mirro pressure cookers were from experience users or reviewers who were referred to this brand by word of mouth. We have learned from our own experience that this kind of recommendation is more powerful than any other.
Other reviews commented on how the instruction manual gave directions for canning specific foods, canning utensils, and canning supplies that would be needed. At least 1 reviewer commented that they use the pressure cooker a lot fo just boiling water.
While the 16 quart Mirro pressure is considered a great investment, you should not be surprised that we found some negative reviews on the product. You may not find them to be as bad as we make it out to be however.
Several reviewers commented with concerns about not having a pressure gauge only because they are used to other brands/models that had them before. Others were concerned with the pressure cooker being made out of aluminum instead of stainless steel but both are rust proof. We think this concern was because the product may be made in China.
Overall though, reviewers commented that it took them a few tries to get the hang of pressure cooker with a larger pressure cooker. After discovering that the 16 Qt pressure cooker can hold up to 7 quart jars or 10 pint jars that they were already looking to buy a second pressure cooker or upgrade altogher to the Mirro 22 Quart pressure cooker.
Because of the lack of full reviews we cannot give the 16 Qt Mirro pressure cooker our full endorsement. Perhaps folks prefer to go either big or small but not too much with the in-between sized pressure cookers. The price is good so we would probably still buy it.
